In Case You Missed It

On Monday, we discussed one key reason why your thyroid hormone is not working.

On Wednesday’s podcast release, we spoke with Dr. Mark Hawkins and discussed why boredom is a healthy pursuit.

Latest Research

This study found associations between solar radiation energy and the incidence and mortality of a number of types of cancers.

The claim that probiotics can correct dysbiosis of the normal microbiota resulting from disease or disruptive events is not well supported according to this systematic review.

A study tested 3 treatment modalities to see which was the most effective on the reduction of serum anti-gastric parietal cell autoantibody (GPCA) level in GPCA-positive oral lichen planus (OLP) patients.

  1. Levamisole plus vitamin B12
  2. B12 only
  3. Levamisole only

The results indicate that treatment modality containing vitamin B12 can effectively reduce the high serum GPCA level to undetectable level.

“OLP patients with underlying autoimmune atrophic gastritis trait should receive a maintenance vitamin B12 treatment for life.”

  1. I’ve got your book and am on Step 2. I’m am definitely more bloated and more foods are causing indigestion. (I have SIBO) I felt much better on Step 1.

    1. Hi Donna,

So the only thing you’ve changed from step 1 is adding the supplements? You may want to wait a bit and see if it’s just a die-off reaction. If it is, it will get better over time. If it’s not, you may be having a reaction to one of the probiotics. You could stop them, see if it gets better, and then add them back in one at a time to see which one is specifically causing you the issue. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions relating to the book or the protocol, feel free to leave them over on the FAQ pages (address listed on the last page of the book).

  3. I don’t find B12 helping my dybsosis and I am now taking a B complex too. I have been taking the B12 for over the past year. I am dealing with very low stomach acid, HCL is not helping it, fat infilitration of my liver and no gallbladder( ox bile with taurine and choline). Lot of difficult breaking down fats and protein.

    1. Hi Michael,

Do you have APCA? I believe the study above was specifically conducted on GPCA-positive oral lichen planus patients. Are you working with a functional medicine practitioner? That could be a good start on getting a handle on it. If you’re interested in becoming a patient of Dr Ruscio’s, you can apply to do so here: https://www.drruscio.com/gethelp
