Another systematic review concludes that the current science is based on observational studies and has poor quality data

“which report associations but do not prove causality. At present, there is no convincing evidence that moderate/responsible solarium use increases melanoma risk.”


This systematic review and meta-analysis concludes that subbed use significantly increases risk of melanoma. The risk is higher with frequency of use and with initial usage at a younger age < 35 years.


In this study, the use of TSH cutoffs of 2.5 and 4.0 mU/liter, combined with thyroid antibodies,

“provides a clinically useful estimate of the long-term risk of hypothyroidism.”
