I’m moving through step 5 (after doing steps 1 and 2). I would say my symptoms were moderate when I began, and I could have even skipped step 2, but wanted to experiment.
My symptoms were primarily IBS related, including constipation, upset stomach, and occasional pain bc of a hiatal hernia.
Those have improved a great deal, and most of the time I’m not having the symptoms now.
Would it be ok to skip parts of step 6? Maybe just do the fiber portion? I want to receive all the potential benefits, but I’m also anxious to begin weaning off of supplements, and going back to more intuitive eating. I’m wondering if the mental relief I would feel would outweigh any potential benefits from the different supplements in step 6. Thanks for your feedback!

We recommend going through the protocol as written. Page 259 of the book lays out a road map showing where it’s ok to skip and where you should proceed through the steps. Each step also includes a section titled “Reassessing” that will hopefully help you in determining what are the right next steps for you. Hope this helps!
