If you are planning on becoming pregnant – a recent meta-analysis (very high level data) showed women with preeclampsia had lower zinc compared to healthy controls.  Thanks to Dr. Jeff Moss for sharing.

Severity of psoriasis (an autoimmune condition of the skin) is associated with vascular inflammation.  Dr. R’s Note: this underscores why treating an autoimmune condition is preferential over just medicating the symptoms.  A common example would be Hashimoto’s.  Using a thyroid medication does not generally treat the underlying cause of autoimmunity. A medication may be needed, but taking steps to lower your antibodies is also important.

People who have sleep problems and sadness in the winter are more likely to use tanning as a treatment.

A small study recently found the low FODMAP diet to be equally as effective for digestive symptoms as a wheat, diary, soy and egg free diet.

Creatine may lower homocysteine levels.

Duodenal aspirates may diagnose more cases of SIBO than breath test – 45% versus 27%.  So we might be under-diagnosing SIBO via breath test.  I am currently looking into this.
