His primary focus is digestive health and its impact on other facets of health, including energy, sleep, mood, and thyroid function and optimization.
Dr. Ruscio’s, DC, book, Healthy Gut, Healthy You, has paved the way for a ‘start with the gut’ philosophy that has enabled doctors and patients to see improved outcomes with minimal expense and effort.
Since 2011, Dr. Ruscio, DC has pioneered the way to providing practical, cost-effective functional medicine care by pragmatically applying evidence-based therapies to thousands of people with real symptoms. Dr. Ruscio’s, DC, ability to objectively analyze medical literature has made him a trusted voice of reason, which he shares in his top-rated podcast and blog, and in a newsletter for functional medicine practitioners.
From Dr. Ruscio, DC
Functional and alternative health can be extremely helpful for a wide array of symptoms and ailments, including depression, fatigue, brain fog, bloating, constipation, abdominal pain, weight gain, joint pain, autoimmunity, and thyroid health. That said, please bear in mind these important contextual points:
- The scientific documentation supporting the effectiveness of natural therapies is incontrovertible in many areas of healthcare, especially (but not only) for digestive maladies.
- Alternative medicine is not a panacea, and it’s important for even the most ardent supporters of natural medicine to realize that conventional medicine has its time and place.
- Overzealousness in alternative medicine has led to unnecessarily complicated recommendations, including overly restrictive diets, excessive supplement programs, and expensive testing, all of which can be debilitating.
Functional health can lead to substantial improvements in one’s health. I advocate for a progressive but cautious model that will provide you with helpful recommendations for improving your health while remaining sensitive to cost and practicality.
If you are searching for a reasonable voice that is not ‘anti-medicine’ and will not make you afraid of food, feel dependent upon supplements, or subject you to expensive and unnecessary testing, I invite you to explore the information on this site.
Personal Experience
Dr. Ruscio, DC, fell ill during his twenties. He eventually found the cause of his problem: a gut infection. In retrospect, he had wasted a lot of time and money trying to treat his symptoms with complicated natural therapies. As a result of that experience, Dr. Ruscio, DC strives to teach other patients and clinicians how to avoid making the same mistakes.
Training and Credentials
Dr. Ruscio, DC has a diverse training background. His undergraduate studies were in exercise science and pre-med, but after conventional medicine failed to treat his illness, he departed from his plans to become a medical doctor. Instead, his positive personal experience with alternative medicine led him to pursue a career as a chiropractic doctor and functional health practitioner.
Although he knew he was on the right path, during his training in alternative medicine, he became concerned by the dogma and lack of scientific rigor in parts of the field. Today, Dr. Ruscio, DC works to provide what he considers an optimal balance of progressive, natural medicine-focused solutions, applied within a conservative, practical, and evidence-based model.

Summary: DrRuscio.com promises help with day to day health issues through the site’s blogs and podcasts based on the science of living and eating well for overall health and wellness.
Las Vegas, United States — For those individuals looking for a website that focuses on common health problems rather than extreme emergencies or tropical diseases, at Drruscio.com they can easily answer the question, “Where is a functional doctor near me?” At the site, anyone can find advice on living a healthier life each day, based on the belief that living well and eating well contributes to better overall health and wellness.
The website includes a daily health blog addressing day to day health issues such as diet and exercise, sleep issues, lifestyle, aging, and gut health as it relates to whole-body issues. A daily podcast also allows followers to find information important to them and their health needs.
The health blog focuses on overall health and wellness, fatigue, moving and eating to make arthritis less of an issue, exercise for people with chronic conditions and the importance of eating well for overall health. Children’s health is also discussed in the blog.
Rather than advocating for pharmaceuticals to solve life issues, the podcast and the blog instead suggest healthy eating as a remedy for many chronic issues, such as irritable bowel syndrome. In fact, proper sleep and exercise are the catalysts for a long life. The website allows people to search for answers to their health issues, with an emphasis on long term health and healthy goals rather than short term temporary solutions.
In addition to the podcast and the blog, the website is focused on continuing research into health issues and the connection between food, health, and chronic issues. Ongoing research into IBS is also a part of the website.
