Gut Thyroid Connection
You cannot realize optimum thyroid health until you have addressed the health of your gut. Correcting problems in the gut has been documented in clinical trials to decrease thyroid autoimmunity - which is the most common cause of hypothyroid. For those who are not truly hypothyroid (labs are normal) but exhibit hypothyroid symptoms - it’s usually a gut issue, causing inflammation and that inflammation which causes the hypothyroid-like symptoms. Healing the gut fixes these symptoms. Hands down the most common reason people flounder with thyroid issues is because they are focusing on the symptoms (thyroid) not the cause (the gut).
